During the event, Davood Zarinpour, Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran and representative of the Saadi Foundation in Egypt, referred to the prominent place of heroes in Iranian history and culture and emphasized the importance of fostering a spirit of resistance, sacrifice, and defense of justice. He said that just as the Shahnameh recounts the bravery and heroism of Iran’s legendary figures, the Iranian people in the contemporary era have also stood firm against oppression and aggression.
The session continued with Zeinab Mohammad, a professor of Persian language and literature in Egypt, narrating the story of “Rostam and Sohrab” for the children. The story was presented in a manner appropriate to the age group of the audience and conveyed concepts such as courage, responsibility, love, destiny, and wisdom.
Three cultural and educational video clips were also screened for the participants. They included the animated film “Seyyed Ali,” focusing on the childhood of the martyred leader and educational role models; excerpts from a Shahnameh recitation by the late Mahdis Nazari, a seven-year-old student and martyr from a school in Minab; and a video featuring Iranian children reciting the Shahnameh beside the mausoleum of the renowned Iranian poet and epic author Hakim Abol-Qasem Ferdowsi in Tus.
The program was held in a warm and family-oriented atmosphere. The children actively participated in the event, asked questions, and engaged in discussions about the characters and stories of the Shahnameh.
