Persian Language Courses Begin in Mumbai

The courses use educational resources developed by the Saadi Foundation, including Gam-e Aval (The First Step) for the elementary level and Mina 1 for the intermediate level. These materials have been designed based on modern approaches to teaching Persian as a foreign language and focus on the simultaneous development of the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

At the elementary level, learners become familiar with the Persian alphabet, the principles of correct reading and writing, basic vocabulary, fundamental grammatical structures, and everyday conversations. Upon completing the course, learners are expected to be able to read simple texts, write short sentences, and communicate at a basic level in Persian.

The intermediate course is designed to further develop learners’ language skills and covers more advanced grammatical structures, different verb tenses, writing skills, the reading of literary and journalistic texts, reading comprehension, and the development of conversational abilities.

Alongside language instruction, part of the course content is devoted to introducing Iranian culture and civilization. Learners are introduced to Iran’s history, traditions, arts, architecture, handicrafts, prominent scientific and literary figures, sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and tourist attractions. To complement the learning process, multimedia materials, including films, documentaries, and other educational resources, are also provided, enabling learners to develop a deeper understanding of Iranian culture and civilization while studying the Persian language.

At the end of the courses, a comprehensive examination will be held, and learners who successfully complete the program will receive certificates of completion.
