According to the Public Relations Office of the Saadi Foundation, the event continued ongoing scientific and cultural cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan and was held alongside the commemoration of Saadi Shirazi Day. The Olympiad received enthusiastic participation from students and university officials.

During the ceremony, Hossein Aghazadeh, Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran and representative of the Saadi Foundation in Almaty, highlighted the previous year’s visit of the President of Iran to Kazakhstan and the joint visit of the two presidents to the manuscript exhibition, describing these events as evidence of the importance of expanding scientific and linguistic cooperation between the two countries.

Sona Ahmadi, Consul General of Iran in Almaty, noted Kazakhstan’s historical role along the Silk Road and emphasized its significance in promoting the Persian language in the region.

Additionally, A. T. Kelsariyeva, Vice President for Research and Strategic Initiatives at the university, stressed the historical ties and linguistic similarities between the two countries and highlighted the need to train specialized professionals in this field.

In this Olympiad, 16 master’s degree students competed at two levels, Beginner (A1) and Intermediate (B1), across four sections: written test, essay writing, listening comprehension, and conversation.

At the conclusion, certificates, honorary diplomas, cash prizes, and cultural packages were awarded to the winners, while letters of appreciation were presented to the Consul General of Iran and the Saadi Foundation’s representative in Almaty by the university president.

This Olympiad once again highlighted the role of language as a bridge of communication and civilization between Iran and Kazakhstan, marking a significant step in strengthening educational cooperation between the two nations.
