Closing Ceremony of the Global “My Persian Book” Campaign Held in Tehran
According to the Public Relations Office of the Saadi Foundation, Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, President of the Saadi Foundation, described the campaign as an effective step toward fostering unity among Persian learners. He emphasized that, in addition to producing textbooks, training instructors, and offering virtual courses, establishing an online community is essential. Such a platform would enable Persian learners worldwide to write, listen, and share their experiences in Persian.
Seyed Ali Mousavizadeh, Deputy for International Affairs at the Saadi Foundation, also expressed satisfaction with the enthusiastic participation of learners. He announced the compilation of 40 textbooks across various educational levels and discussed efforts toward standardizing Persian language education within the foundation, along with a brief overview of its international activities.
Following that, Ahmad Ramezani, Deputy for Education and Research at the Saadi Foundation, outlined the campaign’s achievements and future plans. He highlighted the foundation’s efforts to expand multimedia productions for teaching Persian and answered questions from the learners.
Additionally, Ali Ramezani, Director of Tehran’s Book Garden, congratulated attendees on National Book and Reading Day. He introduced Book Garden as a cultural, literary, artistic, and scientific complex, expressing hope that the Persian learners would have an enjoyable experience visiting the venue.
The campaign aimed to promote a culture of reading and strengthen the connection between Persian learners around the world and the Persian language and culture. Participants from 13 countries—including Tajikistan, India, China, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Kenya, Armenia, and Iraq—took part. More than 120 photos featuring learners with the Saadi Foundation’s Persian textbooks were submitted, and in the end, three learners from China, Uzbekistan, and Georgia were selected as the winners.
The ceremony concluded with honoring the winners and holding a special literary competition for international Persian learners.
