Persian Language Department Will be Established at Gulf College of Oman
Public Relations of saadi foundation according to Islamic Culture and Relations Organization reports , a cooperation agreement between the Persian Language Center of the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Oman and the Gulf College of Oman was signed by Bahman Akbari, the Iranian cultural attaché in Oman and the head of Persian Language Center and Dr. Taqi Bin Abdulredha Al Abduwani, the dean of Gulf College of Oman.
The cooperation agreement was signed to promote good relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Sultanate of Oman and to expand academic, cultural, economic and social relations between the two countries.
At the ceremony of the signing of this cooperation agreement the strengthening of educational and cultural relations between the two countries was emphasized and it was decided that Persian Language Department be opened in Gulf College of Oman as the next attempt. In addition, Persian language training will be considered as a four-optional unit in the education system of this college after the approval of the Omani Ministry of Higher Education.
Following the meeting, both sides talked about some cases such as the exchange of professors and students with Iranian universities, the establishment of an Iranian cultural club at the college to carry out student cultural activities, the establishment of the Persian language department at the college, the invitation of Iranian professors and students to participate in short courses of Arabic language and the conduct of joint research projects to examine business opportunities in Iran and Oman (according to the educational mission of Gulf College of Oman in the field of commerce).
According to this report, Gulf College of Oman was established in 1990 as an educational institution. Currently, more than 4,000 students from 23 countries are studying at this college. Gulf College of Oman also has more than 100 professors from 14 countries.
