The Opening of Persian Language and Literature Refresher Course in Beijing

The opening ceremony of Persian language and literature refresher course was held on August 22, 2016 in the auditorium of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Peking University.

According to the Public Relations of Saadi Foundation , in this refresher course, which is held with the contribution of the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saadi foundation and Peking University, 70 teachers and students of Persian language and literature from different universities in China have participated including Peking University, Beijing University of International Business and Economics, Beijing Foreign Language Studies University, Shanghai Foreign Language Studies University, and Xian Foreign Language Studies University.   

In this opening ceremony, Adel Khani, the Deputy Director of the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in China said: "I am deeply pleased that this refresher course is held here as Peking University makes me remember the memories related to the years of studying and teaching and is a kind of second home to me, and in addition after a short interruption Peking University is again shining like a bright star in the sky of relations between Iran and China and in the future will shine more like this plan and in the near future the organization of the sixth International Conference on Iranology in this University. In addition, Peking University has the first seat of Persian Language and Literature and the first Center for Iranian Studies in China".

He added: "The organization of such joint training courses especially in countries such as China which have a long history and civilization and common civilizational communication has a crucial role in the development of relations between the two countries and I think in this way, academic diplomacy is more effective than other diplomacies. We are ready to develop academic, research and cultural cooperation with universities in China".

Adel Khani continued: "I hope that this refresher course restart cultural activities between Iran and Peking University".

He emphasized: "I hope that this year you students provide historical and civilizational links between Iran and China in various fields using the cultural opportunity which has been provided in the strategy of One Belt, One Road for the world".

In addition, in this opening ceremony a number of Chinese authorities from different universities whose students participated in this refresher course gave lecture.
