the 64th literary society meeting of the Bidel Dehlavi was held on 19th of January with title of "Christ and Mary in Persian Literature" at the hall of the Iranian cultural advisory in New Delhi.
Ali Dehgahi, the cultural advisor of our country in a speech at the meeting, while introducing Ehsanollah Shokrollahi, the new director of the Persian Research Center, talked about the history of the presence of Christians in Iran and how they interact with the followers of other religions in the land.
He added: "From the beginning of Persian poetry and literature, it has always been given attention to this issue and mentioned to Christ and Mary (S) in the form of advice or historical issue.
Mr.Dehgahi continued: Rudaki, the father of Persian poetry, also referred to Christ in his poems and created beautiful poetry.
Shokrollahi, the new director of the Persian Research Center, expressed his hope that these meetings would be held continuously and that all literary friends would use it.
Also, Alim Ashrafkhan, the head of the Persian group of the University of New Delhi talked about the subject of Christ and Mary and spoke a story about the subject.
Sharif Hussein Ghasemi, the former head of the Persian group in the University of New Delhi, referred to the scope of the subject of Christ and Mary, and said: "Many poets have used this theme as a allusion in their poems.
He added: Khaghani is the first poet who deals with the subject of Christ and Mary, because his mother was a Nestorian Christianity.
The speeches of Seyed Akhtar Mehdi and Mrs. Seyedeh Belqis Fatemeh Hosseini and the poetry reading of the lecturers and students were among the other programs of the ceremony.
