Many foreign language students live in countries where English is their official language, or they are familiar with English. English knowledge of these individuals can facilitate the learning process of Persian. Understanding this possibility, the Saadi Foundation is trying to provide some foreign-language textbooks for Persian language and literature, translated into other languages, especially English, as bilingual educational books. These books are standardized in read-only texts, and are presented in an educational form so that the reader can simultaneously read the text and get familiar with key terms and expressions.
The first example of this collection is the bilingual novel Khumrah, a precious work by contemporary writer Houshang Moradi Kermani, translated by Caroline Croscari. The smooth and accurate translation of the book, in addition to the precise transposition of the meaning, introduces the reader to the expressive logic of the Persian language.
In this bilingual book, the Persian page and its English translation are exactly the opposite. On each page, the new and key words of the Persian are indexed with their English version in order for the reader to use their English knowledge to understand the meaning of Persian words. In addition, key terms and phrases are also defined at the bottom of the page. At the end of the book, an alphabetical list of key terms and expressions is provided.
This book and its keywords are tailored to the B1 or pre-intermediate level in the six-level European framework. The story of this book, which dates back to decades, is a fictional and sweet story of the events of a rural school, where its drinking water was broken by cold winter and they cannot provide another Khumrah to the next spring. We hope that the Persian students will enjoy reading this book and will use it to enhance their linguistic knowledge.
Hello Persian (For Serbia)
The Belgrade Graduate School of Philology is the most prestigious and largest academic center in the field of studying and teaching foreign languages, literature and culture in the Balkans. Twenty four different languages as well as linguistics, literature and culture in the Balkans and linguistics, literature and librarianship are taught there. The Persian language is presented in the Orientalist Studies Unit as an Optional Unit, and all students can choose it as their second or third language. This educational book compilation was conducted with teaching at the faculty and continuous collection of linguistic data in the form of "Persian language production" using the teaching experiences at different levels. It is now considered as "the first special course for Persian language teaching" provided to Serbian students. This training kit is provided in response to the students' need for appropriate educational content for this course and to provide the groundwork for a larger goal, namely the establishment of a Farsi language and literature class at the faculty.
"Hello-Farsi" consists of three main sections and twelve units that correspond to the duration of a training year. The first chapter is devoted to teaching materials, supported by theoretical foundations in "linguistics", "foreign language teaching" as well as taking into account the design principles of the "curriculum" and the "development and formulation of educational content".
The prevailing curriculum of this book is a "role-conceptual" and "situational" program that is appropriate and practical for a particular audience of this period. Gradually, in the final lessons, "task-based programs" are used. Hence, its linguistic theory falls within the framework of "functional linguistics", since it includes educational subjects, and functions of language. On the other hand, "interactive learning" forms the basis of all the educational activities of this book, which, as a result, leads to the strengthening of "communication skills". In this book, "The four main skills of language teaching" as well as "the cultural issues" associated with it are considered, and its main feature is a formalization of the "automaticity" in "spoken and written Persian". The purpose is that, at the end, the students will be able to understand and produce both kinds of language; this has been addressed in the "conversation", "pronunciation" and "listening comprehension" sections. In the opening talks of each lesson, a new and varied terms are presented in which the learner can use additional words and phrases in the "linguistic context" by shifting in the "replacement" axis. In addition, the instructional unit is new words and concepts, sentences and text, and their application is also introduced in various contexts. "Hello Persian" was designated as the syllabus at the College of Philology School and was published by the Saadi Foundation.

"The reference framework for teaching Persian language in the world"
The standardization of Persian language teaching is one of the key priorities and main goals of the Saadi Foundation as a custodian for teaching Persian to non-Persian speaking world. Since the establishment of the Saadi Foundation, this has been the goal due to the importance of educational and content levels and its impact on the educational principles of Persian language internationally. Since there are no standard criteria for teaching Persian language, we have tried to find a suitable and appropriate model using research on the foreign language teaching and the common patterns in educational and content of the second/foreign language. In other words, the Saadi Foundation's educational standards are presented for coordinating and integrating educational levels of Persian language to non-Persian speakers. The purpose was to organize existing disparity in the content of teaching and testing, in short-term and long-term training curriculum, in designing a curriculum, in preparing and editing educational materials, and in determining the level. The Saadi Foundation started this serious effort in the fall of 2015 at the Saadi Foundation's educational and research deputy, and the following basic steps have been taken in this direction:
First, studying the principles and methods of organizing the curriculum and selecting the framework required by the Persian language
Second, studying educational standards and levels of language teaching. In this regard, seven levels were considered.
Third, standardized localization of the European reference framework according to the characteristics of the Persian language
Fourth - Presentation of the educational and content standards of Saadi Foundation
Fifth - Determining the educational objectives appropriate to each level
Sixth - Presentation of executive plan for organizing Persian language training courses both inside and outside the country
"Active Institutions in teaching Persian language in the world"
This booklet is based on a gathering of "active Institutions in Persian language teaching in the world", which was held on December 1, 2014 at the Saadi Foundation.
The focus of this gathering was:
Investigating the capacities, abilities and facilities of institutions on educational, research, cultural and media activities;
Utilization of the private and public sector capacity for Persian language activities internationally
In this booklet, the information of 22 institutes invited to the conference is mentioned. For each institution, contact information, introduction (including the most important accomplishments, ongoing activities and plans, and future plans), capabilities and capacities, expectations of the institution from the Saadi Foundation and areas of cooperation with the Saadi Foundation are mentioned.
